Psalm 23 lived out

Have you ever had one of those seasons in your life when things seemed to go from bad to worse?

I’m smack dab in the middle right now.  I know that there is a light, a very BRIGHT light at the end of the tunnel.  I know that this season has a very distinct expiration date.  But, right now, the situation is getting degrading rather than improving.

I’ve learned in situations like these is that the darkest hour comes before the dawn.

I’ve learned that I CANNOT take my frustrations out on other people.

I’ve learned that I have to find some way to maintain a positive outlook.

I’ve learned that I have to go through these seasons so that I can appreciate the mountaintop experiences.

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.  Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.  -Psalm 23:4-6

David knew a thing or two about dark nights of the soul.  He was a man after God’s heart.  Jesus knew a thing or two about walking through the valley of the shadow of death.  He’s God.

It makes me feel better to know that I am in good company.
