Quotes and USPS fun

I cannot think of a place I’d rather spend 30 minutes on a hot afternoon than in a post office that smells like a toilet ran over that does not have air conditioning.  I asked my postal worker if she was having a good day and she said, “Fine.  Are you about to make my day bad?”  Just as I said no, her printer malfunctioned.  I may have to find a new post office 🙂

I came across two quotes that made me laugh out loud, that are from Robert Orben.

Sometimes I get the feeling that the whole world is against me, but deep down, I know that’s not true.  Some smaller countries are neutral.

Every morning I get up and look through the Forbes list of the richest people in America.  If I’m not there, I go to work.

The last quote cracked me up.  When I worked in the doctor’s office, the older folks, would quip, “Today is a good day.  I looked for my name in the obituaries, and I wasn’t there.”  That joke was especially popular among the 8AM fasting bloodwork crowd 🙂

Have a wonderful day, and be thankful that you didn’t find your name in the obits.  You have another day to love your life, embrace the God who loves you so much and positively impact someone’s life.

  1. Deneen, I absolutely LOVE your sense of humor! Here is a quote someone shared with me that I found to be so true…”Some people have to be miserable to be happy”. Isn’t it amazing that people are like that? Like you, I am a positive, outgoing person that sees something to enjoy it everything….especially the fact that God loves me & is patient with me. That alone makes me happy…but I have many more blessings that He has added.

  2. Why thank you. I know that my sense of humor is…offbeat? dry? But that is how God made me, and I bask in His creative power.

I love that you always sign your comments as “Chill pastor’s mom.” That makes me smile too.

Forgive me for not knowing the answer to this question, but have you join the wacky world of the bloggers–ie do you have a blog?

    Have a wonderful day.

  3. this is her son responding to your question…No, she does not blog…She loves reading the stuff, but she has not dove into yet…thanks for blessing my sweet mom’s day with your humor….

    chill
