Notes on a weekend

Friday
Mom and I went to Springfields on Friday evening.  My friend Mindy and her fiance Brian play there every other Friday night.  They are an acoustic band.  It’s just generally a good time.  Two guys bought me drinks.  It has been so long since someone not related to me bought me a drink that I didn’t know what to do.  All in all, I had a good time.  Life has been so stressful that I needed to chill.

Saturday
Denette, Tim, the kids, Bob, his son and I went to South Street in Philadelphia.  Yeah.  That was interesting.  I’m not really a South Street kinda gal anymore.  I did have bubble tea, which made me exceedingly happy.  It’s been a long time…since my Boston days, since I had bubble tea.  I also had Philly Java company coffee…again, it’s been a while.  We also went to Tony Luke’s for sandwiches.  Their bread is amazing.  I want to go back to try a cheesesteak.  I wasn’t overly impressed with my food, but I hear amazing things about their cheesesteaks.

I also picked up my friend Colleen from the airport.  It’s great to have her back in Jersey 🙂

Sunday
Today was an interesting day.  I felt strongly impressed by God to go to the first church I attended as an adult…I was so nervous when I was driving there.  I had a great time there.  It was great to participate in their worship service…it awakened something in me that I didn’t realize was sleeping.  I also had the opportunity to hear a pastor from England speak…a man that I’ve heard much about over the past 10 years that I had never seen, heard or met.  We’re now Facebook friends, so that is pretty cool.  God really confirmed to me several times that I was supposed to be there today.  I think that maybe someone may have stolen my paper journal, because much of what was preached and spoken today in church was written in my journal last night 🙂

And, last but not least, tonight I finally saw the newest Harry Potter movie.  Good flick.  My eyes are still puffy from watching Sirius die.

Coming this week
Tomorrow night I am hanging with two of my youth kids from ROL.  I can’t wait.  It is really going to mess with my mind because the last time I spent a good amount of time with them, they were teenagers.  Now…they are in their twenties.  I’m getting old 🙂

My friend Brooke’s last day with Osstem is Friday.  I’m so sad that she’s leaving.  I’m excited for her and her husband Rich.  God has blessed Rich with a great job in MA.  Stupid schools in PA and NJ.  You missed out on having a great guy teach for you and have forced my friend to move.  Thanks.

Tomorrow my best friend from high school turns 32.  I will always love that she is a few weeks older than I.

Well, I have to ge tome shut eye.  Thanks for reading.  May God bless you 🙂
