This week is such a funky week.  I know that we need the rain, but I’m feeling a little dreary because of the gray skies and the damp weather.  If I have to experience weather like this, I want to be surrounded by folks with British accents, drinking a spot of tea and eating a crumpet.  (Or maybe I’m just homesick for St. Luke’s and Eric Delve…)

This morning, I was reflecting on the past and the present and the future.  A Kenny Rogers song (don’t hold it against me…lol) came to mind.  You have to know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em.  I am a horrible poker player.  I don’t know when to fold and I don’t know when to hold on.  If you fold at the appropriate time, you can save some scars.  When you hold on too long, you wind up hurting yourself and others.  My prayer for myself at this moment is that God would give me the wisdom to know when to hold ’em and know when to fold ’em.  And that I would have the obedience, from this point forward, to do what God tells me, even if it makes no sense.
